Experts Dedicated to Supporting Autism Families

Autism Parenting Simplified was created to help parents feel confident supporting their autistic children at home.

Regan Matlock is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and her mother, Dr. Tricia Shaw, is a Master’s-level Special Educator with a doctorate in organizational leadership who have spent years working directly with autistic children and their families. Through our work in homes, clinics, classrooms, and community, we’ve seen how overwhelming autism parenting can feel — especially when parents are given conflicting advice and unclear guidance.

Our mission is simple: help parents understand their child and know exactly what to do next.

We break down evidence-based strategies into practical, step-by-step tools that parents can use in everyday situations like meltdowns, communication challenges, routines, and building independence.

Because when parents feel confident, children thrive.

Our Approach

Practical. Evidence-based. Parent-friendly.

We believe autism parenting should come with clear guidance, not confusion.

Many parents are given overwhelming information or conflicting advice. Our approach simplifies evidence-based strategies so parents can understand why behaviors happen and what to do next.

Using principles from behavior analysis and special education, we break complex challenges into simple, step-by-step systems parents can use in everyday situations.

Our goal is not just to provide information — it's to help parents:

• Understand their child’s behavior
• Respond confidently during challenging moments
• Build communication and independence skills
• Create calmer, more predictable daily routines

Because when parents have the right tools, children make meaningful progress.

One method.

Real progress.
